The Ellery ADU Studio Anaheim Guarantee
We stand behind every ADU we design, permit, and build in Anaheim with a written promise, not a handshake. Under the Haven Standard, every project gets a fixed price before work starts, a documented photo record of every visit, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise - if the finished ADU is not built to the permitted drawings, we make it right, in writing, before the first shovel hits the ground. Since 2015, we’ve delivered 900+ ADUs across Southern California, and we’ve learned that guarantees only matter when they’re specific enough to enforce. Ours are.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship guarantee: Our crews build to the permitted drawings, period. If a finished detail - trim alignment, window flashing, utility tie-in - does not match the approved set, we return and correct it at our expense under the 365-Day Done Right Promise.
- Parts and material handling: We specify every major material by brand and model in the written scope. If a substitution becomes necessary, we document it in the photo record and obtain your written approval before installation - no “equivalent or better” switcheroos at your expense.
- Site cleanliness and protection: Your existing home and yard are part of the job. We protect landscaping, driveways, and access paths during construction and remove construction debris before each inspection milestone. The photo record shows the condition we found and the condition we left.
- Schedule accountability: Our written timeline includes permit submission dates, inspection windows, and construction phases. When city delays or weather push a date, we tell you before you have to ask. No ghosting, no “we’ll be there sometime Tuesday.”
- Honest, upfront pricing: Haven Standard Clause 1 requires a written, line-item price before any work begins. The words “call for a quote” do not appear anywhere in our process. What we write is what you pay - no change orders unless you add scope, and no hidden permit or utility fees buried in fine print.
Our Satisfaction Promise

If something is not right, we fix it. That is the entire process.
Here’s how it works in practice. During construction, you receive a documented photo record after every site visit - not a summary of how the crew felt about the day, but timestamped evidence of what was found and what was done. If a photo shows a detail that does not match the permitted drawings or the written scope, you flag it. We schedule the correction. We photograph the correction. We move to the next phase.
After final inspection and certificate of occupancy, the 365-Day Done Right Promise remains in force. If you discover that a finished element - a door that does not seal, a floor that slopes outside tolerance, a utility connection that leaks - was not built to the permitted drawings, we return and make it right. No arbitration, no “that’s within industry standard” debates. The permitted drawings are the standard. We agree to this in writing before the project starts, and we honor it after the project ends.
In the rare case that a disagreement persists, our license and insurance provide the backstop that verbal promises cannot. But in our experience, disagreements rarely persist when both parties have the same photo record and the same written scope to reference.
Licensed & Insured Backing
A guarantee is only as reliable as the entity behind it. Ellery ADU Studio Anaheim is licensed and insured, with license numbers displayed on every page of this site - verified, not merely claimed. This matters because ADU construction in Anaheim involves multiple permit types, utility connections, and structural work that triggers state and city oversight. An unlicensed operator can disappear; a licensed contractor has a bond, a disciplinary record, and a stake in maintaining clean standing with the California Contractors State License Board.
Our insurance covers general liability and workers’ compensation, which protects you if a crew member is injured on your property or if construction damage extends to your existing home. We do not subcontract to uninsured day laborers or ask you to sign owner-builder permits to sidestep our responsibility. The contract is with Ellery ADU Studio, the permit is in our name, and the insurance certificate is available on request.
Nadia Ellery has operated this studio since 2015 under these terms because she has seen what happens when homeowners choose the lower bid from the operator who “guarantees” everything verbally and delivers nothing in writing. The Haven Standard exists to prevent that outcome. Every clause - Clause 1 (written price), Clause 5 (no surprises), the photo record requirement, the 365-Day Done Right Promise - was developed in response to a real failure we observed in the market. We do not consider these features generous. We consider them the minimum standard for treating a homeowner’s property and budget with respect.
Free Second Opinion

If you already have a written estimate from another ADU designer or builder in Anaheim, we will review it at no charge. We will tell you what we see - scope gaps, permit assumptions, utility cost allocations, prefab brand specifications - in plain language, with no pressure to switch. Some homeowners use this to validate their current bid; others discover that “foundation included” means a 4-inch slab with no rebar in a seismic zone. Either way, you leave with more information than you brought, and the consultation costs nothing.
Call (657) 366-5740 to schedule your free second opinion or to discuss how the Haven Standard applies to your ADU project. A live person answers, 24 hours a day. No voicemail queue, no callback promise that does not materialize.
